Cp plus notice

I have received a charge notice from cp plus for exceeding a 3 hour stay by 40 minutes on a free (for 3 hours) retail site.
The fine is £100.00 but reduced to £50.00 if paid within 14 days. I am obviously not happy and this is a huge amount of money and I did not actually leave the retail park!!!
Is this legitimate or a scam???

Yes it's real and not a scam (it is but a legitimate one).

Edit your post so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred.

Post up the notice suitably redacted but leave dates.
