Hello everyone.
I have a long ongoing issue with a disputed debt.
My phone contract was with Orange (who then became EE) I cancelled the pay monthly contract (approx £30 a month) prior to leaving the country for 6 months in 2016!!. I returned to a bill of £130, when i asked for a breakdown I was sent an invoice for £17! I paid this invoice and then received a refund for the exact amount 3 weeks later.
Over a year after that I started receiving letters from Lowell for a debt of £150 from Orange/EE. I have disputed this bill since the start and have got no where, Lowell want payment, Orange/EE say they sold it to Lowell so won't discuss it with me. no one has EVER explained WHERE this £130 was reached.
Am I wrong in refusing to pay this supposed bill for 3 years? I don't know where I stand legally, I asked Orange how much I owed them, they told me, I paid it. Can they then come after me for another sum? This has ruined my credit rating, as it shows default on Orange AND EE, even though I only had ONE phone and ONE phone contract.
thanks in advance for any advice
Jo
