  • N24 General Form of Judgement or Order

I am the defendant in a claim brought against me by a driver I crashed into while I was on my bike. I have admitted liability for the accident but was not happy with the value of the claim so I opted to allow the court to decide the amount I owe. This is because the claimant has relied on an estimate of the costs he has incurred for damage to his car rather than actual costs. I want to make the Judge aware that I am not happy about this. I had a conversation with the county claims court over the phone and they said I needed to fill out an N244 form. Is this correct? On the N24 form clause 8) states that : A party believing that the amount payable is genuinely disputed on grounds which appear substantial must file an application for the claim to be allocated to a track'. Is the N244 form the mechanism I use for this?
