  • Ccj for statute barred debt

Hi all. Please help. I received a ccj from Northampton courts yesterday for a paydayuk debt from 2012. Last payment was made on 31st may 2012 and I have never paid since nor acknowledged the debt. This should now be statute barred. When I rand bw legal who have the account they told me I made a payment on 10th Jan 2014 meaning it isn't statute barred anymore. I then looked into my online banking and never made a payment on that date.

I was to dispute the ccj but have no idea how to do it or what to say..

Any help would be great thanks

Ask them for details of the alleged payment, ie DD or bank transfer or cheque and who made it

You say you received a CCJ, had you received a claim form which perhaps you ignored or is this the actual claim form ?

If you have not received the claim form perhaps you could apply for a set aside and plead your case againpt2537

I did receive something but ignored it as I knew the debt was statute barred. Now I have received a ccj from the courts. Is the only way to stop this going onto my credit file by paying it within the 14days?
