Equal pay act - same gender

New to the forums, how are you?

I have a question about equal pay law in the UK.

My company are hiring for another person to do the same job as me. I have already asked for a pay rise prior to this but it hasn't materialised, yet they are offering more money for the new role.

When you make your post could you confirm what you mean by same gender as it doesn't really seem relevant to your question.
