  • Hsbc uk issues

Thank you for the forums legal beagles, i am showing interest to see if we can navigate through the process of getting the right services i am are entitled to.

For example. I am trying to get services from HSBC UK such as recovering an inactive account. I used all forms of communication with the bank, but no one new about the process HSBC UK banks used to the services of Inactive accounts.

My story is, that i held accounts with HSBC UK when they took over Midland bank, as i was a Midland Bank Customer.

My Accounts where left in credit and dormant. when i return to HSBC to ask for a summary such as the account numbers and final balance of accounts frozen and dormant. they do not direct me to anyone who is familiar with the practices to help me locate my dormant accounts.

I took the matter to the Financial ombudsman who again, knew nothing about the Inactive account process for HSBC https://www.hsbc.co.uk/help/banking-...tive-accounts/ and closed my case in favor of the banks. this was frustrating because they did not address my actual problem and ignored my issue of inactive accounts, there for they made up their own view of my case and how they will deal with it.

I filed a SAR application to HSBC UK, but again, they did not comply within the deadline, and did not supply me data i asked for. HSBC UK DATA Department claimed "they think they have given me all the data i am entitled to from current accounts, there for they complied to the SAR." I did not ask for data from my current accounts in the SAR!?
They did not contact me in anyway to confirm what information/data i was after, if this kind of data was made readily available by HSBC to the Data department for them to give me what i applied for through the SAR, and if the information/data i was looking for would need specialist attention to be able to locate and retrieve. Either way HSBC UK Data department closed my case ignoring my Request and did not work with me to make sure they located and recovered the data i filed for in my SAR Application..

HSBC UK departments also stated that, if the account was closed, they no longer have records of my accounts. I clearly stated they where dormant and not closed.

anyway. i recently wrote to my local branch where i held all accounts current and past. i await their reply to see if they understand my complaint and can assist me further.

Did you respond to the FOS to reject their conclusion ?

Could you try something like https://www.mylostaccount.org.uk/ ? It appears to be free but double check as I've only had a quick look but reached it from https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ccounts-scheme
    so should be okay.

[QUOTE=Amethyst;n1476859]Did you respond to the FOS to reject their conclusion ?

Thanks for reading my Forum AMETHYST. I sure did make sure the FOS knew i rejected their conclusion, their conclusion was no way based on my situation, other then just to say i had a complaint. So i rejected their outcome.

Yes, I have tried Mylostaccount.org.uk. I think the matter is the HSBC had not handed my information out to external resources, as they maintain my right to return to them to recover the dormant accounts.

I think in my case, it is about finding HSBC members who know how i can get dormant accounts recovered, until i find these representatives, i am left at a guessing game. and HSBC advertisements of how the bank runs.
