  • VT with HP - Manheim Inspection report

    Hi all,

I hope you can help me, I VT'd my car with Barclays on the 24th June, delivered it to Manheim 1st June.
Direct debit is cancelled under instruction from Barclays and now awaiting the "Assessment".

So i logged onto the manheim website this evening on the off chance it's been done, and it has great!
It's been moved from where i dropped it off almost 90 miles away so i don't now know if some of the damage they are talking about was caused when it was transported.
It's been graded a 5 being the worst possible grade. Car is an 11 plate Ford Grand Cmax with 77211 miles on it.
They have marked it with only 3 services (2 where missing before i had the car, the 2 i needed to do a friend did them privately under manufacturer recommendations and he wrote in the book, mileage, date and what was changed however no receipts as it was more of a favour.)
It's a 7 seats, they have marked it down as having 1 seat missing when the seat in the middle of the car so what would usually be the middle seat in a 5 seater folds into the drivers side rear seat. That's currently how it is! I know this for a fact, having the car for 2.5 years i've used this seat many of times. you can see the 7th seat poking out from underneath the other seats on THEIR photos on THEIR website!!!
They have marked it as only having 1 key, however i gave them both keys and on the paperwork they signed and gave to me after delivering the car it says Spare key with a tick next to it.
They have marked some wheel kerbing and cuts int the sidewalls, fair enough i don't mind paying for that.
Missing parcel shelf - i have emails to prove that i never received that
They have also highlighted some damage to the paintwork, some that was there when i bought it which i have proof of some of which i dont.
some are new - 8 years old and it'll have a few scratches
They have also noted some parts as having dirt in the paint the photo's show nothing! just a panel the same colour as the car.

The spare wheel is supposedly missing however i know it's not. I checked it was there before delivering it!
The spare wheel i under the rear seats, to get to it you have to lift a flap of carpet up which shows you a storage area, this is foam you remove this and then the spare wheel and jack are underneath.
They haven't even bothered to look.

Where do i stand if Barclays comes back with ridiculous charges about stuff i 100% know is false?
The main concerns are the Servicing, the keys (Have proof from Manheim it had 2), parcel shelf (Have emails from dealer), Spare wheel, 7th Seat (Blatantly can see it from the photos on their website.) I will post the photo if someone want's to play spot the seat.

Please help me, my anxiety is through the roof with this one and i can't be worrying for weeks on end as to what's going to happen.
If anyone has any suggestions or things i need to do let me know and i shall do it!

    Many thanks
    Jon

      Hello

Have a read of the VT guide link in my signature below. If you did come across this before exercising your VT right you would have seen the part that says "photographs, photographs, photographs"

If you took photographs, you need not worry. If you didnt, then that's a lesson to remember next time and it's simply a case of telling barclays to prove it whilst maintaining your position.

Theres plenty of posts on this forum about damages so that would be your starting point.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

        Hiya,

thank you very much for that. I’ve got loads of photos of the outside and inside for the purpose of damage.
I don’t have one showing the seat out however you can see it poking out from under the seat on their photo so I’m not worried on that. i also don’t have a photo of the spare wheel but I 100% know it was there.

We shall wait and see what they come back with. But if it’s ridiculous I won’t take it laying say
