Very old CCJ

I have recently had to move into rented accommodation and to my shock discovered I had a very old CCJ, it was charged to an/old address I've not lived at for approx 5 years in January 2018. I work in banking and will lose my job and career over this plus I could have been homeless had it not been for my ex acting as guarantor. Everything I'm reading talks about time limits for setting aside. I don't know who to contact first. NN Court have told me who the original claimant is and the solicitor and the amount. I don't recognise any of it and I've never had any correspondence whatsoever. Do I write to the solicitor (Shoosmiths) first or request a copy of the agreement from the claimant (now Arrow but was HBOS) I've never had any contact with either so I need to see proof of this debt and see if it is actually mine. Where can I get this and how can I defend setting aside when the judgement is do old?

Hi yes it sounds like you need to apply to set-aside the judgement. Time-limit twice on setting aside a judgement she must act promptly after finding out about it, so you should be fine. First step is to write to Arrow global as the judgement holder And ask for them to consent to a set site application, Telling them you just found out about it you haven't had any communication from them previously and you don't know what it's actually for, could they send you a copy of the claim, consent to your set aside application, So that you can consider your position whether to defend organise a settlement.

Do you know how much the judgement is for and do you have any idea what the original debt was?

Thank you for your your response, really helpful. The amount with fees is around £2850 (according to the court). I have no idea what it's for, no idea about the original debt. I got into financial trouble about 12 years ago, everything from that time has been cleared. I haven't attempted to take out loans or credit since then, I've never needed to luckily as been with my partner but since splitting I've had to go it alone and trying to rent a property was the way I found out about this. If it is my debt then its got to be over 12 years old and I've never known about it in all these years since, perhaps it was overlooked or perhaps its a fraud. There's got to be a law against old debts. Is it statue barred? Is it worth me mentioning that to Arrow? Whole family has been racking their brains and no one can recall dealing with HBOS or Arrow. I'll write to Arrow as you suggest.

If the judgment was given in Jan 2018, you should be able to get some details from Trust Online

Thanks, I tried that but they ask for a claim number. I don't have anything, very limited information from the court. I've sent an email to the court asking for a copy of the claim form.
