M husband was handed a Notice of enforcement bypostman sat AM whilst working at our workshop - The letter was addresssed wrong but postman knew us and ask my hubby if it was him.
Rang newlyn and it was a unpaid driving offence. AND there were 2...
We had no idea as the leter was addressed to the incorrect address and only by sheer chance did we get this one - if husband hadnt of been there with rolloer up the postman would not have delivered.
I was told the earlyone which i had no paperwork for was with Balifs and i muct pay £533 now. I asked if he could email me the notice and he said no - Only after i pay - If i paid no it would only be £278.
After several phone calls we paid as we were scared - Never had this before. ( this was all sunday) Still didnt have any referance or receipt of what we had paid for.
Monday AM i rang the council and told then that the paperwork mus have gone to wrong address. They agreed and told me to ring TEC - I have done this and filled forms in and had everything witnessed.
I know i shouldnt have paid the bailiff - It is a mistake that the pcn's went to the incorrect address but i have prooved that.
I have asked for money back and thay say NO.
Any advice?
