  • New bathroom fitted and now leaking

Roughly 2 months ago my partner and I had a new bathroom fitted by a local plumber, it wasntthe easiest of rides but we got it completed in the end. We have now discovered a leak on the bath which looks like it was damaged during installation but I'm not sure. We have called the plumber numerous times to come and rectify it but he is now dodging us. What would be the best way forward in dealing with this as all of the bathroomsuite was supplied by the plumber and is now defective? Should I get another plumber in to sort it out or should I struggle on with the fitter and see where it goes? I just want it fixing before the leak becomes a bigger problem...

    Cheers

Write to the fitter and request that he resolves the problem. Give him 14 days to respond. If he is not willing, or does not respond within 14 days then tell him that you will employ another company to fix to prevent further damage. You will then claim the cost from him using the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

All communication in writing, with free certificate of Posting from a Post Office.

I sympathise, I'm having the same sort of problems after a new bathroom was fitted. The boss's attitude changed from his usual bullshit when I mentioned CRA 2015.
