Hi all
I received a fine for assuming I was entitled for a free dental checks not realizing I wasn't. I have applied for HC1 certificate straight away but it confirmed I wasn't entitled for a free dental check up at the time. I am a single father and have been on JSA for a long time so im used to ticking the benefit section. I started work but forgot to not tick the benefit section and ended up receiving a huge fine. I made an appeal on the basis of a genuine mistake but they rejected my appeal. where do I stand in terms of law? Can they really fine and penalize people for a genuine mistake. Also if you commit a minor crime for the first time even police let you off with a warning or if you get a parking fine they give you opportunity to pay within 14 days and reduce in half. Why dont NHSBSA do the same? Please advice thank you
