i want to find out the cost of a long hospital stay.
it has taken me a very long time to get my health records
the hospital says that it cannot compute the costs.
it has been my understanding that under the FOI, they are obliged to give me the cost.
The cost per night is £370.
if the finance department paid someone £15 per hour to work it out, they could spent 24 hours working it out and it wouldn’t cost as much as one night.
i could of course multiply the number of nights I was in and do the sums myself but there are myriad other costs: legal fees, cost of dog kennels, outside advocate agencies, specialised home visits. I don’t know how the cost of medication or seeing specialists is computed.
Surely the hospital is obliged by the Act to give me the (very large) cost?
Thank you.
