Ok so iv been going through a Vt with startline finance iv seen a few on here doing this also and after searching these thread for success stories about collection fees and not finding any I'd like to let people know my experience so far
As most threads about Vts on this iv used the template letters to start the process in these letter iv told them that they can only contact me through email to get it all in writing. And they have done so.
They replied with the usual pay 4 collect which is 240 or deliver the car 59 mile away iv refused to do either . They've reminded me that in my finance agreement iv to return the car at my own expense, I checked and yes it does. Iv still refused and this is what iv said
iv reminding them that any agreement about the car was now terminated and that they can not enforce a contract that is no longer active, I had paid 50% of the total and that is all I'm liable you have received my termination letter which terminated any contract we had when u received it so
I asked them to show me legislation in the vt act that stated I must pay collection fees and I would be most grateful if they could.. they did not
And that if the car was not collect by the 1st may the car would be sorned no tax and insurance and left on the street as I will no longer be living at the property so all responsibility will be theirs. I have not had any reply since
Today iv received and email by someone not starline but they have been instructed by startline to collect the car. They are collecting tomorrow
so a win for me at the moment. Not sure if the will try charging me at a later day or what ever I suppose time will tel when I receive the report. I will ppl know of they try anything else if they dont I wont.
