  • Faulty car

Have bought a car that will not pass it’s MOT as it is not road safe due to faulty brake pads and brake discs. Dealer offered to pay but has been uncontactable for 10 days. Have had the car for almost 1 month and he has still not sent the parts. Other engine lights have also now started appearing with issues but the dealer is still not reachable. He will not accept us returning the car as he says legally he is trying to fix the problems- however he has has sent no parts or given no money for works. Do we have any position with legal grounds to get a refund and return the car?

So within 30 days write to the dealer and reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
