Voluntary Termination before i reach halfway

Hi, can someone explain to me how to early volunteer terminate my car by about three months? Im about three payments short of halfway and happy to pay the difference to reach the halfway finance figure. Is there a separate letter required out with the normal voluntary termination one? (ie. will the finance company just bill me the difference and any outstanding monies using the normal template letter?)
Any advice appreciated.

You could make the 3 months payment to take you to halfway and then voluntary terminate. Would be the simplest way i would have thought.

I'm just wondering if this is an option or should I just ride out the next 3-4 months with payments? If anyone has terminated early, I would appreciate how they went about it and any complications.
