Sorry you feel that way Mercury55.
As a residuary beneficiary the solicitor do have a duty to you too but as mentioned they take instructions from the executor.
i have tried to explain the usual sorts of delays that can occur.
I appreciate how frustrated you are with the whole thing but not knowing all the details does make it harder to explain where the holdups are.
i hope things get sorted for you soon.
I am a qualified solicitor and am happy to try and assist informally, where needed.

Any posts I make on LegalBeagles are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as legal advice. Any practical advice I give is without liability. I do not represent people on the forum.

If in doubt you should always seek professional face to face legal advice.

Hello, I've now received final set of accounts from the solicitors, thier bill is £19800 for a £140000 estate, 14%. This is ridiculous. Again they want all 3 beneficiaries to sign before they will distribute. If I sign and send back am I accepting thier charges? Does this stop me being able to complain to the legal ombudsman?
What happens if all 3 do not sign?
If I want to pursue a claim against them do I need to go through thier complaints procedure first before going to the Ombudsman?
      Thank you
