Hi All,
I am an informal advocate for a gentleman with learning difficulties - for a time he has been subject of some appalling malpractice from the agency that supplies his support. My complaints to the agency on his behalf have not been dealt with adequately and so I am trying to obtain further information to take the matter further. I am struggling to find out exactly what I am entitled to ask for under the various legislation FOI, DPA & GDPR. I need access to things like emails, review notes, things like that. Can anyone give me some urgent advice please. Kind regards Martin

GDPR ( data protection act subject access request ) seems the most likely way to get what is needed. That obtains all data held relating to an individual. A basic request first without being overly specific as to what you are looking for. https://legalbeagles.info/library/gu...ccess-request/
you can go back for any specifics you think are missing that may be directly related to the complaint afterwards.

FOI would be for a request to a public body - day for minutes of a meeting, communications with another public body, training documents, internal statistics - that kind of thing.

Otherwise could a copy of the medical files assist ( gp or hospital records ) ?

Probably teaching grandmother to suck eggs here and apologies if I am stating the obvious, but as an informal advocate you wouldn't be in a position to request anything. Any request can only come from the gentleman himself or a registered attorney.
As I say you probably worked that out already but thought I should flag it in case you hadn't.
