Hi, please can you help? I recently parked in a disabled parking bay in a MET car park in Romford. When I parked I put my blue badge on the dash and left the car. Unfortunately I didn’t have a wallet to keep the two pieces of the blue badge secure, so consequently when the dot was open a little while later, it was very windy and unbeknown to me the badge ended up in the footwell. On my return I saw a parking ticket had been given. I immediately sent an email explaining what had happened and included a photo of my blue badge. The company has ignored my request and has continued to send letters, each time asking for more money. Finally I received a letter from a debt collector agency and they have told me that I have to pay the total fine of £160. I suffer from a chronic pain condition and have days where I’m unable to move. I’m seventy years old and this problem has made my condition flare up. Please can someone tell me what I can do about this as they are now threatening court action!
