  • Smart parking charge

I work in a shopping centre. All parking permits are usually renewed for all store staff on the same date. As I was on maternity my parking permit had not been renewed. I did 2 keeping in touch days. I had not realised my parking permit had not been renewed. After I received my first parking charge I immediately renewed my parking permit. I have also tried to appeal to smart on the basis that I am an employee and provided a copy of my previous permit and my new permit in the hope they would understand the oversight of not renewing my permit before commencing a keeping in touch days whilst still on maternity. they have rejected my appeal and I am now wondering is it worth me trying to appeal through popla. If I lose my discounted rate will no longer be valid and I will have to pay the full amount of £200 instead of £120. Either is a lot of money to pay while on maternity. Especially when I was working and not abusing the car park for personal reasons.
any help on this will be greatly appreciated

Can your employer not tell them to cancel?

The shopping centre could but the management team are very unhelpful. I did go to them before submitting my appeal and they refused to help in any way

        Hi

        Were they windscreen PCNs?

Have you received any postal ones?

Can you take some pics of the site signs?

Could you post up a copy of it, please? (Front & rear.)

Redact personal data (inc vehicle reg), but leave all times/dates visible.

We can take a look at the signs later.

Upload your photos to a photo hosting site, imgur is one of them, and then post the link to the picture on this site.

Was your 'appeal' to Smart in writing?

If so, did you ID who was driving/parking? (just answer Y or N)

Btw, you have not redacted the PCN no. or the vehicle reg.

Appeal was by e-mail. Yes ID myself as driver. Explained about being an employee on maternity hoping honesty would be best policy

Thought I had redacted the Reg? Can’t delete that link now on this forum? Will it matter?
