I work in a shopping centre. All parking permits are usually renewed for all store staff on the same date. As I was on maternity my parking permit had not been renewed. I did 2 keeping in touch days. I had not realised my parking permit had not been renewed. After I received my first parking charge I immediately renewed my parking permit. I have also tried to appeal to smart on the basis that I am an employee and provided a copy of my previous permit and my new permit in the hope they would understand the oversight of not renewing my permit before commencing a keeping in touch days whilst still on maternity. they have rejected my appeal and I am now wondering is it worth me trying to appeal through popla. If I lose my discounted rate will no longer be valid and I will have to pay the full amount of £200 instead of £120. Either is a lot of money to pay while on maternity. Especially when I was working and not abusing the car park for personal reasons.
any help on this will be greatly appreciated
