Cars belonging to myself and daughter parked on the drive were emptied of a number of items in the boot and front holders - the cars had been locked, there was no forced entry we suspect a device was used to gain entry - bouncing a signal - the insurance company are firstly classing this as one incident - should it be two with it being two separate robberies and then they say we have to prove they were locked. How can we do this as there is no evidence of a break in but we know they were locked! I would never leave a car open especially when I know there are items in there that were valuable.

It would be classed as one incident if the robberies took place at the same time.
What were the items that were stolen?
Presumably the driveway is that of your house.
Is your daughter part of your household, or was she just visiting?
As all household policies are different could you post up a link to your policy wording and a copy of your schedule (removing identifying details).
If your vehicles have comprehensive insurance it is possible those policies cover items within the car, but you will still have to show they were broken into.

The car insurance does not cover for adequate personal items

Certainly wouldn't be covered as "''theft from from a garage or outbuilding'' but depending on the wording of the policy might be "''contents outside but within the boundaries'' .
Would not comment further without having access to full policy wording, including schedule.
I'm saying this as often theft is only included if it includes breaking and entry or violence (in other words doesn't often cover theft from gardens.)
There could be other restrictions
