  • sent my defence to the court and they have sent a small claims and mediation option

    Hi,
This is my first post and am having problems with pra group. Basical they say I had a debt from 2002 which I am not sure about. I sent a prove it letter and they replied with a 9 pages of acredit agreement with no heading or my signature or creditors signature. They also responded 15 working days after my prove it letter was received by them.
They also put a ccj against my name about 3 months without allowing me to defend myself or knowing they they were taken me to court. They later took the ccj off my credit file without telling me and reimbursed my £50.

The courts and pra said that i had sent a defence to the courts earlier in february 2019 when i didnt; the first and only one was sent on the 27 feb.
The courts have now sent their reply to my defence giving me the option to go small courts and mediation.
The debt us just under £2000.
Pra produced a list saying payments had been for some 2 years in 2010 too 2011 and then in 2017 I asked christians against poverty for help with other debts and they mentioned a loan owed to pra group and suggested i paid a£1 which would help my case and prevent my belongings or house being used to pay this debt. I realised now that this negated my chance of writing off the debt with the 6 yrs non payment clause.
I have beeon ill with celiac and had 2 bouts of alopecia during the last 5 years with stress very naive in financial things.
Sorry for being a long first post but i just want for this to finish.
I dont know whether to compromise with mediation and small claims or go to court and plead my case.
If i just ignore it I believe it will go to court and they decide the outcome. If I go the court route what will be my costs, if I win or lose.
    Thanks for your help.
    Lisa

    Hi

You are quite a long way down the court process.

The recent court form you received is probably an N180 Directions Questionnaire (DQ)..... something like -
    https://assets.publishing.service.go...6/n180-eng.pdf

Have you completed & returned it to court yet? (+ a copy to the Claimant, PRA).

Has PRA sent a copy of their completed DQ to you yet?

What did you say in your filed defence? (Sent by you to the court 27th Feb.)
