Newbie needing advice

i need some advice please I am self employed but work through a company. I have a contract says a minimum of 16 hours per week being paid ex amount per minute.
recently myself and other self employed recieved an email (not in the contract), if you work less than 16 hours your pay will be cut by 5p per minute! Is this lawful?

Thank you Amethyst for replying! It’s 33p per minute. You can sit for hours without one call. I work for a psychic line.
example today logged on for 4.5 hours I earned £22.
