  • Can my friend take me to court for cancelling a holiday?

I am the lead passenger and I booked out flights which I paid me for what he owed. I no longer want to travel with him due to a dispute. I will be travelling but I’m refusing to travel with friend. Said friend has his plane ticket, I am not stopping him from going on holiday. It’s perfectly fine with me if he’s on the plane we just will not be travelling together. For some reason he still wants to travel with me otherwise he’s demanding I pay him his flight money back.
Can he take me to court for his share of the flight money?

You'll both be on the same flight .... so you'll be travelling 'together' in essence. Let's hope you're not seated next to each other on the flight or it could be a bit of a frosty start to your holiday xxxx

Was it just flights, no hotel etc and you've just organised your own accommodation ( and presumably not informed him and left him to sort his own out if he does travel ) ?

Can he check in / get boarding pass etc ?

He is free to travel or not and no, there's no requirement for you to repay him for his flight that he has chosen not to take. Presumably he asked you to book it for him in the first place.

I sent him his flight tickets and and all emails so he will be able to check in. If I had to I would check him in if necessary. It was just flights ... hotels have been cancelled with no charge.
