Housing association arrears

Recently i discovered that a freind had been paying arrears to her housing association for 16 years and had no idea.

When asked the housing association didnt know what arrears were for so cleared them from her account and repayed 200 pound in court costs she had to pay when they attempted to evict her for the same arrears.

I have asked them to pay back all monies paid towards these arrears. And they wont. been through the complaint system and they refuse to esculate complaint to stage 2.
