  • reasonable Duties

    Hi All. new member.
I am a manual grade staff working in Higher Education.
My employer always seem to be wanting to chop and change our jobs saying it is in the interests of business.
The changes are like different tasks, jobs, working in different areas etc to those which were originally set on to do and are part of our Job Descriptions.
The changes are not massive but changes nonetheless.
When we question it all we seem to hear is the clause in your contract,,,," plus any other duty which management seem appropriate at the time,,,,"
i am sure you have seen this before.
Is there a definition of this clause ?? a legal boundary ? If you were employed in the catering division can they ask you to work in cleaning just because of a clause in your contract.

    Many Thanks.

Due to the the clause in your contract your employer can change your job role without your consent. However this must be reasonable.

How have your job duties changed? By that i mean what did you do and what do you do now?
