  • Parking Eye Parking charge

hello, I paid £6 to park in the Britannia Adelphi Car Park in Liverpool. I parked there for 6 hours and 30 minutes. I thought the £6 was for the day. I have now received a parking charge notice for £100 reduced to £60 if paid promptly by Parking Eye. I am not sure what the fine is for as it doesn't say on the charge notice. Is this legal? do I have to pay the fine? how are they allowed to get my personal details like name & address? I have tried to google the parking site to find out what their actual car park prices are but there is nothing to be found on the web.

Edit your post so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred. Use "the driver ......"etc.

What you have is a Notice to Keeper and it is an invoice that the driver agreed to pay for an alleged breach of the terms and conditions at the car park.

They are permitted to get the registered keeper's details from the DVLA.

Here's the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (POFA) which allows them to claim from the keeper when they don't know the identity of the driver. As the driver did not collect a windscreen ticket then paragraph 9 is relevant.

The have to tell you what the alleged breach of the conditions was that allowed them to issue the charge in the first place.

Post up both sides of the NTK you received, redacting identifying data, but leave the dates.
