  • What nationality does my child have?

I am new on the forum. I am looking for advice to help determine the nationality of my child. Citizen’s Advice and local registry office have not been able to help and the solicitors I contacted never got back to me.

Based on the following information is my child already a UK citizen or not:
    1) Child’ born in the UK in the last few years and has UK birth certificate.
    2) Child has only ever lived in the UK.
    3) Mother is an EU citizen with permanent residence status obtained from HO after birth of child but backdated to before birth of child.
    4) Father of child is an EU citizen.

I wish for my child to obtain/claim UK citizenship. What should I do next?
    1) Apply for a standard first passport for my child
    2) First register my child as a UK citizen
    3) Something else?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice

probably is a British citizen as mother's status was backdated.
