I live in Michigan my boyfriend lives in Ohio. Well I was planning to mive in there in a few wks. But 3 months ago hus electric was turned off. So we were going to put it in my name. My boyfriend said he called and they wouldnt do it, he said so he paid his off and had it turned back on in his name. Well i go up and stay on weekends and found in his bag a electric bill in my name. So when i got back to my house in mich. I called the comp. And he did have it put in my name and hasnt paid it theres a shutiff notice niw. So I called and he totally denied it said he never did tgat and he never received a bill. When i said I saw it in his bag that he is lying he told me To ver call him its all my fault for going in his stuff. Soo my questiin is can he be prosecuted for this or what steps do I do. Also found out he keeps putting the bill i. Others names let them get shut off and puts in it someone elses name.

Hi Dawn. This is a UK forum, so we can't help you all that much. My thoughts are:-

Please don't continue to regard him as your boyfriend. He's trouble! Plus, what he has done is abusive, although it could be worse!

The bill is not your liability. Contact the power company and tell them this.

Don't worry about the police. Let the power company involve the police if they want to, as it's their loss.

This is a wake up call for you. Don't get suckered by him. If he loved you he wouldn't do this to you.

Am I being judgmental? Yes. Am I right, though, that's the question.
