  • County court claim against student for parking on campus

Just opened my sons post to find a county court claim against him for a number of parking charges on campus (details FWIW below*). My main question is as a student with no income, just enough money from loans and parents to maintain himself, even if he loses in court how will they enforce payment for the £1650.00 + court fees they are claiming?

*He was staying on campus over christmas as he had a seasonal job. On 30/12/2018 his clutch went as he was leaving so he parked in a uni car park. He then had a series of tows to the garage, poor fix, fail again all ending with him parked in the same car park (the third tow truck fixed it on site and told him he needed a £5.00 nut off ebay to fix it permanently grrrr). He had been told that it was ok to leave the car there, but at the start of the new term he started getting notices. He appealed the first one, after which he received an email from a university facilities manager, which he responded to and heard no further about, but they have been chasing the rest ever since. he says he has been in contact with both the facilities manager and the company
