  • county court business centre letter

    Hi. I’m M1871. New here.

Received a letter from county court business centre letter. Was just looking for advice on what to do next? Is it likely that they’d agree to a reasonable payment plan?
    Thanks.

Did you receive a letter before action prior to the claim ? And have you asked for any copies of the documents as yet ?

Do you recognise the debt, did you havea Three Mobile contract and stop payments before the end of the contract etc ? were there any disputes/issues ?

Your first action should be to acknowledge the claimto prevent a judgment in default being issued. Acknowledge Claim

The claimant may agree a settlement offer or payment plan keeping the claim on hold, although they are likely to want the full amount now they have paid court fees etc out.

My wife had an iPad that had a Three data sim. That ended as normal as far as we are concerned. it was a few years ago so is more than likely the subject of this letter. She has a Three phone contract which she pays on time every month. This was taken out after the iPad thing ended.

We we will acknowledge the claim and hopefully see what has happened for this action to come about. If we do owe the money we will of course pay. It won’t be the full amount in one go though. We don’t have that kind of money spare at the moment.

      Thank’s for your reply.

Okay, it is worth getting in touch with Three and asking them for details of that previous contract and the default/termination information - if they won't help because it's been sold/assigned to Lowell, you can send them a Subject Access Request (Subject Access Request Letter ) but you are still Three customers so you'd think they'd have informed you of any issues with previous contracts before starting a new one.

You should also send a letter (CPR 31.14 Request ) to Lowell asking for copies of documents ( ask for account agreement, notice of assignment, and default notice )
