    Hi Forum,
I've been supporting my elderly mother regarding a billing issue with her management service company. They sent her a deficit service charge back in May together with reminders, which she didn't receive. They have now doubled the bill with additional charges and a debt management company is now involved and are refusing to even negotiate and take into account her status.
I've looked into various avenues and even contacted the Gov Lease Advisory Service for advice, they say we are obliged to pay under the Interpretation Act, in that posting of these bills would be deemed as being served.
Can we ask for proof of postage from the management company? I can't understand how they can do this to a pensioner who has never missed a bill in her life....how is she meant to pay something that she is not aware even existed?
Any advice would be gratefully received?
    Many thanks
