  • Hello. Question about a transaction requested by late father

    Hello Forum,

My father passed away a couple of months ago and I am sorting out his finances.

Before he died he twice requested that an online service settle his account with which he was in credit by £130. The service administrators tried, twice, to make the payment to an expired debit card, even though they had his current card on file. As he passed away shortly afterwards the service admin are now asking for the death certificate etc. Do they have to honour my father's request or do I have to go through all the extra hassle that they are asking of me?

The way I see it is that they cocked up the admin so should just make the payment correctly as per my father's living request.

Thank you in advance for your help.
