  • Parking at Southgate (Southgate Park), Stansted Airport.

Hi. Signage in the parking area is ludicrous.

An area close to McDonalds offers parking for up to 60 minutes, but nothing about charges.

An adjoining area mentions Free Parking for 60 minutes, ‘Pay by Phone’.

Another area’s sign indicates No Parking At Any Time.

Is this a crude, underhand attempt to confuse drivers into situations where they can be stung with fat fines through
    MET Parking Services’ nonsensical signs?

Sorry if the quality”s poor. Unfamiliar with your site.
The Notice was issued 29 days after the incident, delivered 3 days later.

Does this impact on the validity of the notice, and any aspects of how it should be east with?

In addition to the huge confusion and misguidance of signage, McDonalds (which MET states isn’t in ‘Southgate Park’) has Southgate in its address, Starbucks (which MET contends is within its Southgate Park authorised parking zone) lists its address as Thremall Avenue, Stansted - no mention of Southgate or Southgate Park.

To transfer liability from the driver to the keeper then without a windscreen ticket then they need to deliver the Notice to Keeper within 14 days.

        Sirs

        Ref PCN xxxxx VRM yyyyyy

I am the registered keeper of the above vehicle and am in receipt of the PCN you issued. I have no liability on this matter as you have failed to meet the requirements of Schedule 4 of The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 namely, but not limited to, failing to deliver the notice within the prescribed relevant period of 14 days, contrary to section 9 (4) of the Act. You cannot therefore transfer liability from the driver at the time to me.

There is no legal requirement to identify the driver at the time and I will not be doing so.

Any further communication with me on this matter, apart from confirmation of no further action and my details being removed from your records, will be considered vexatious and harassment. This includes communication from any Debt Collection companies you care to instruct.

        Yours etc.
