  • Voluntary Termination - returning the car

My partner is in the process of voluntary terminating his hire purchase agreement. In the letter from the finance company they ask him to get in touch to get the details of their local agent.
I did this today (I have authority to deal) however the closest agent they can offer me is over 40 miles away, which is surprising considering we live in Edinburgh. I don't feel this is a reasonable distance to expect us to take the car, they disagree, and will also not disclose the address until we confirm when we are dropping the car off as they say they need to give the agent advance notice. They woild want £80 to collect it, and I'm sure they would do this in their own sweet time!
I'd be keen to hear your thoughts?

I suggest reading the abundance of other voluntary termination threads to find an answer to your problem. If not come back and someone will more than likely answer it your problem for you.
