  • Sold not fit for purpose Jeep Wrangler

    Hello and thanks for replying
I bought a Jeep Wrangler for £17,999 on the 1/06/2018 and very quickly found major problems with it.I have had a Independent Inspection by a court approved engineer and the report has been pretty damning.(not fit for purpose) The dealer was cynical about my inspection and insisted on his own and they collected the car a week ago no inspection has been done and he says he is repairing the vehicle although under the Short term right to reject I have repeatedly asked for my money back (E Mail and registered letter). He has got the car in his possession and is not returning it nor replying to my requests he says he has had permission off my partner by telephone to repair it although that is ridiculous one my partner is not the legal owner and two I have EMails that repeatedly ask for a refund and on no account any repairs. I have sent a letter before action as I have no choice .....how do I get my vehicle back please anyone ??

I'm a bit confused by the above statement because you have said that you rejected the vehicle but you are now asking us how to get your vehicle back. You've rejected the vehicle in writing and made it clear to the dealer that it is being rejected, so the vehicle no longer belongs to you and if the refund has not taken place then your only other option is to go to court and sue for it.

If you have legal expenses insurance I suggest you contact them to discuss bringing a claim or if you paid for the vehicle by credit card (in part or in full) then the credit card company would be jointly liable as if it were the dealer so you could claim against them also.

If none of the options are available then it seems you will need to issue a court claim yourself but as the cost of the vehicle is over £10,000 the claim will fall outside of the small claims track and you will be liable for costs if you lose your case.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

If you used finance to purchase the vehicle, it is the finance house you should be dealing with
