  • Late payment effecting credit score for ‘excess mileage’ following VT

Hi guys I’dlike some help please.

I VT’d my BMW after the 50% mark with the help of BMWFS. The condition report picked nothing up during the hand back procedure apart from the excess mileage. The reason for VT was a change in location of work which meant I was doing far in excess of mileage than when I first took out the PCP, repayments were never missed I just wanted to avoid the heavy excess mileage penalty at the end of the PCP.

Fast forward to yesterday, I applied for finance on a Harley Motorcycle until it was rejected. I looked on my Experian credit report and I have excellent credit apart from this BMW issue. BMW have lodged this as ‘ several missed payments’ which we all know seriously affect ones credit score.

My questions would be is this allowed as under the CCA I’m not liable for the excess mileage. I feel I’m being unfairly penalised for what is a very contentious legal issue of excess mileage and being culpable for payment.

Any my help would be much appreciated.
