  • Accused of theft

    Hello.

I was doing some gardening work for this lady near to me and had been for about a year.

The lady was hard work and I told her to find someone else although I used to see her occasionally and we chatted and that was it.

The last time I did any work at her house was about 2 years ago.

Today phoned me and said that I had taken a couple of items from her garage, 2 silver plates and some paint brushes. Well off course I was surprised by her accusations and upset. She has given me 3 days to return the items which I have not taken.

As I have never been arrested or in trouble with the police I am obviously worried.

    Whats can I do ?

    Thanks

    sedgy

What can the police do? Absolutely nothing. There is no evidence that the items were there, especially after 2 years.

      Thanks Ostell

That is my thinking, I will speak to her son when he gets back to the UK ( he does not like her ) will get him to have a good look round and I am sure he will find them.

He may not even find them, they may have not even been there. Does one normally keep silver plate in the garage with the paint brushes?

Well this lady does, she is a bit eccentric and that is why I didn't do her garden any more.
