    hi all I’m new to this so apologies now
    i need some help I am currently a guarantor for a loan my brother got with amigo loans but we have had a family feud and wondered if I can get out of being a guarantor pls help thanks

    Signing up to being a guarantor means just that - you are liable if your brother fails to pay.

    There is no get out if there is a family feud - that was the risk you took when you agreed to guarantee the loan knowing the possible consequences.

    I am sorry if my reply appears harsh but that is the simple truth.

      If your brother fails to keep up his repayments then you can pursue him through the courts.
      Of course if he failed to pay due to a lack of money and not pure spite it might not be worthwhile.
      if you can afford to, you should pay off the loan as you are legally bound and it could affect your credit rating if you do not. You could continue with the instalments rather than paying the full sum but as this would include interest it should be less expensive to make an offer in full and final settlement to the loan issuer.
