Firstly HIYAAA. I'm totally new to forums but could really do with some help right now.
In a nutshell. I haven't received working tax credits (after they stopped in 2007) for nearly 10 years although i received child tax credit. I always assumed this was correct as i had an accountant fill in my forms every year with the corrects hours and figures, and they would come back saying I did not qualify for working tax credit.
When i switched accountants this summer, i was asked why we had not received wtc as we had been qualifying for the last decade.
when I called HMRC they said we had not been claiming and no figures had been submitted. They started paying the credits and backdated 30 days which they say I am lawfully entitled to.
My question now is this - i WAS claiming (i can prove this as i submitted a SAR and have all the paperwork and forms I have ever submitted as evidence) so why was i not paid? Is there any law that entitles me to claim back the money I missed out on?
many thanks in advance
