Hi, new to this site, so any advice would be gratefully received.
Lost my job a few months ago, but have a lump left (24k) that I hope will clear most of my 48k debt.
I have had the debt (credit cards) since 2007 ish and entered a debt management plan around 2010 after struggling to keep up the payments.
My wifes salary and working tax credits do not give us a sufficient amount to carry on paying the debt plan, or if so only a tiny amount.
Most of the card have been sold onto other collectors apart from Capital one.
What is my best option with the lump I have left in order to rid myself of this situation?
Do I ask the Debt Management company to come up with the figures to pay some debts off?
Can it be done myself? I am not the sharpest tool in the box!
What % I am realistically likely to have to pay back?
We are currently in a moratorium state with the plan at the minute, which will end shortly and I need some help if possible on the best way forward.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
