  • Default Notice

Just wanted to raise this tale which is astonishing.
Essentially, I took out a sim only deal with O2 last September and purchased a phone.

I did not need the sim deal and was assured by the O2 staff member that so long as I terminated the agreement and paid off the phone within fourteen days the matter would be closed.

I paid the phone and notified O2 that I wished to terminate the aim deal.
i received a confirmation from O2 that I had paid the monies and owes nothing.

I thought nothing more until I applied for a loan and kept getting rejected you've guest it O2 had placed a default notice on my credit file. After contacting them last month they accepted the error and have a letter fromO2 confirming they uphold the complaint.

I checked my experian credit file and in mid December noted it had been removed, and my score had improved.i thereby made a loan application only for it to be rejected when I checked the default notice has gone back on.

Despite it having been removed, experian have failed to explain why the default notice has been put back on.

I would like your thoughts on both O2 incompetence and greatly damaging my credit and further Experians ongoing incompetence.

i still have the default notice on my credit file and no explanation as to and why it's been added then removed then added.

I am desperate for a loan in order to get a car to go to work and the catalyst of errors both O2 and Experian have meant I continue to be in a dire predicament

really appreciate your thoughts on how to resolve this and take action against both.I have read that a John Peters? sued O2 re a default notice is that correct??

    Good morning,

Have you made a formal written complaint to 02? This obliges them to fully investigate and respond to the complaint. Failure to remedy the complaint leaves the way open to complaints regulators and further action.

Personally I would send the complaint to the MD/CEO of both Experian and 02 by signed for post.

Also you need to check the other main credit reference agencies as it's likely they are holding the same data.

      Hi Nemesis,

Thanks for your response, I have sent them a letter, and complained, they have replied offering 50pound and advising that they believe the matter is concluded.

having done some digging, it would appear O2,have been ruthless and following articles in the guardian note they appear not to take heed!!

Appreciate your thoughts in terms of pursuing this one.

Hi, Sounds like they have made their " Final Response" so has the credit reference mess caused you any actual provable loss?
