Hi All,
Thank you for the welcome Amethyst!
I am after some impartial advice from anyone who maybe able to help if possible.
I signed a learning agreement through work for a course relevant to my role. It was for 2 years, and states how much per year although they only funded the first year and started in Sept 2016.
The following year after starting this course, I was struggling with the amount of work being given and the lack of staff in other departments which i was having to cover, despite work being aware i had a chronic condition which came under the Equality Act. In the end, it became so bad i was signed off by my Dr in August for stress at work, and eventually resigned in Sept with my one month notice and which the Dr signed me off so i did not have to return.
Work have continued to badger me for the money (I have letters from virtually everyone it seems!) and despite my resignation stating i am resigning due to the amount of work and stress it had caused me (and continues to), they say it was all "developmental opportunities". I left without a job to go to, and in an attempt to be reasonable i offered £2 a week for a year, I then said i could go to £400 for the course (almost £1700).
I have at last started a new job which they have told me they are aware of, and i contacted Acas for Early Conciliation. However, it seems on the same day, they have issued proceedings against me for the whole amount. I now have to compose a defence, if i have any.
I am still to receive a response from my Acas conciliator, but if anyone can offer any thoughts i would be grateful. Sorry to go on, i seem to have spent this whole year just worrying about it all.
