Please can you give advice re the possibility of claiming money back for used car.
Purchased Car. On 13.8.17
collected car on 25.8.17
30.8.17 the alternator lights came on and after looking under the bonnet noticed that the washer pipes were broken too
2.9.17 had to charge the battery due to it being flat
5.9.17 noticed dashboard lights and headlights kept going out
6.9.17 lights went out 7 times whilst driving in the dark for approx 20 miles...after moving the switch around they came back on each time
15.9.17 car was taken back to the garage
the garage had the car for a total of six and a half weeks in which time they mended the washers, fixed two broken wires and put an new alternator on and was told that the replacing of the wires would rectify the lights problem
26.10.17 received car back from garage
28.10.17 lights on the dashboard and headlights went out again whilst driving in the dark it was also found to have an oil leak from the dipstick pipe and the starter motor kept sticking
5.11.17 car was taken back to the garage where it was purchased
6.11.17 sent the garage an email requesting my money back as had no confidence in the car and that had only actually had the car on my premises for 4 weeks out of the 11 that had passed since the date of purchase.
11.11.17 the garage emailed me stating that I did not have sufficient grounds to request my money back
the garage have said that it is now in a local garage who are trying to find the faults
As you can imagine the list of problems with the car keep getting longer and feel that this issue needs to be brought to a close...
