  • Essential Maintenance work - forums

Actually not really essential but the forums have grown somewhat and things are getting a bit confusing - what to post where etc so we are going to be making a few changes - merging some forums, losing some, adding some and rearranging some. So some threads might move to different forums - We'll leave redirects where possible, it wont be very many, but hopefully will make the forums easier to navigate.

If anyone does have any thoughts about the way the forums are laid out etc please feel free to add any suggestions here.

Re: Essential Maintenance work - forums

      As we discussed this morning.
I would like a section to cover compound interest. ( Compound interest rather than Contractural interest please )
There are various threads and post scattered all over the site at the moment.

This should really have a separate section, but this should be tucked away in a project or working group forum. Not on general view at present.

Okay I have done quite a bit of this now...please have a look and give me some feedback.

        Be greatly appreciated.

If you want anything moving please put a link here to the thread you want moving and the title of the forum you want it moving to.

I will leave 1 week redirects.

Also if you can't find something which was in a forum that has now been removed please ask me.

PEEPS. Can we have a forum for irritating losers who spend half their life changing their font colours when posting banal and meaningless drivel?

But can we have more stress releiving games, I used to have an online version of Othello, could we include that?

Sadly the irratating loser forum is on a back burner until we actually have any on the site, and I think lots of font colours make things pretty, no ?

No sure that Othello would be particularly stress releiving - I suppose it would depend on the type of stresses you are attempting to relieve (have posted on the other thread Mad about the games)

Very pretty maybe, but nauseatingly difficult to read - especially when it's not worth reading in the first place

Re: Essential Maintenance work - forums

Sorry Ame, I'll try and make a sensible suggesrion if I may!

It's something that's always been a bit of bug bear with me about the site.

Firstly, with the background colour of the main forum pages being in light blue and the font colours of the forum titles a mid blue, it's not that clear to read and the wording just dosen't jump out enough for speed-reading. I find when scanning the main furum index, I have to READ it rather than glance at it if you see what I mean.

Secondly, the default font colour on posts is grey as opposed to black and set against the light blue background, the lack of contrast just makes it harder work to read. It's just all very bland really.

I know my eyes aren't that good and I'm not the quickest reader anyway but I do find other sites with white backgrounds and true black fonts so much easier to navigate. I appreciate that the colour scheme is a Legal Beagles thing but I'd be interested to hear what others think.

You could try this one ... Legal Beagles - Style 2

Seriously we could set up a different colour scheme for people who would prefer a more black and white contrasty style.
