    1. ECJ says websites need phone numbers or web forms
Companies have to provide a means of contact on their websites in addition to
their postal and email addresses, the European Court of Justice has ruled. A
telephone number, or a contact form that is answered within 60 minutes, were
    deemed acceptable.

PS note the term 'companies' so it may not matter to sites like LB..........on the other-hand it may apply to sites like CAG because that is a company ie 'Claim the Right'...Should I post the link on CAG

And they are going to enforce this how exactly ?

For example, I, A Brit, have a site physically hosted in USA, how does that effect me ??

lol yes I think you have. Trouble with having a phone number up on a site like ours, is ummm people will ring us. We have our address and email addresses on the home page, I don't think its possible to have a phone number.

As we are NOT a company I doubt it applies & if we were a simple inquiry form would I think suffice.

As for you CB I have no idea how they will enforce it (your the computer geek you tell me ) although I think if your site is active in the EU then it may apply

Agreed but I don't think that's what they mean. There needs to be some personal AND private way they can contact the site after all sending me or you a PM would not I think count as we don't 'own' it.

My suggestion would be a simple inquiry form which would be emailed to admin by the poster which in turn if admin are unavailable could have an auto response saying "sorry out of the office at the mo but will contact you on my return" type of message & as it's instant should mean it's OK so case covered I think

That already exists at the very bottom of each page:

                  Contact Us

so it just needs auto response added

and at the very bottom of the homepage we have the registered address.

I fail to see how this can be applied to us. We have no customers and in any event, the court did not rule that a telephone number was required.

OK put in the auto answer then we don't have to worry about some cretin trying to make trouble for LB
