When people are using shout, sometimes it slows up and messages don't appear immediately, causes a bit of confusion on occassion as it can be quite fast paced.
When the site as a whole is a bit slow cause of high server load, the shoutbox slows right up too.
In the past we have had cluster timing problems (where messages come up in odd orders) but we seem to have solved that issue for the moment.
