miners concessionary fuel

I am a widow and over the last seven years have taken in a lodger to make ends meet.
problem
over this length of time I have not informed national concessionary fuel office that I have had a lodger, my sister always filled in forms for me as I have always had a problem in the respect after she past away I continued to do as she did not realizing that I had to tell of change in circumstances.
what will fuel office do to me, I myself informed them of my situation when it was pointed out to me, will I be charged with fraud and have to pay back all the money they gave me over the last seven years?
they stopped my allowance 6 months ago.
any help or advice for 70 year old worried pensioner would be helpful
no longer have a lodger.

I am not familiar with the regulation of the concession I hope there is someone around who will able to help.
I would think that much will depend on how much " extra benefit) you have had from the concession, but I doubt
very much the fuel office will involve the police over this.

You have set the record straight now which is good!!

My guess is that there maybe some sanction on what you receive if any action
is taken at all.

The government website says that taking in a lodger MIGHT affect the concession .
They also say overpayments will have to be repaid.
Nowhere can I find what effect a lodger might have on the rate.
What is of concern is the scheme is run by Capita.

I would suggest it might be worthwhile contacting your local NUM branch for advice.
