    Re: Bagel, anyone???

Morning Nattie and all. This is only a quickie (what other sort is there lol) cos I'm off to work at the match soon. I presume you'll be glued to the telly for the fottie results Nattie? We've got Burnley so that will probably be about as exciting as watching paint dry, or another banana skin following on from our midweek disaster.

I know this has nothing to do with Bagels but never mind.
    Is no longer here

I must admit that I was one of those friends agnes was talking about. No matter how many times I tried the link, it always came up with disneyland webspaces. I even had to go onto the thread I & friends are running (MP Campaign) & found pepys having a very heated 'debate' concerning Legal Beagles (I love it when I can type it & it doesn't alter to bagels). In fact I'm very surprised we haven't been cagbotted for trying to post LB's link; what you bet that I've gone & spoke too soon lol.

The story can now be told of the problems dealing with all of this during the early period of the waiver, and it is a story worthy of the Special Operations Executive during WW2.

When the extent of the stitch up became clear, it was obvious that the banks had made arrangements with the courts to stay all proceedings (although both FSA and the courts won't admit it). When no credible statement came from CAG about dealing with the waiver, the advice was for everyone to send in the revised 'Application to lift a stay'. The idea that court stays could be swept aside simply by sending them a template letter was clearly flawed, and Beagles was the only site to stand up at the outset and say so. Our advice was that only severe hardship cases had a real chance of success and that applications needed to be carefully drafted to highlight the hardship and any special circumstances of the claim.

I made posts OTR that alluded to work we were doing, but could not post a link. I was flooded with PMs requesting help with the applications, as this was not coming from CAG. Eventually this was rumbled and my account was banned, after 6 months of hard work and some 400 posts. Even now I find it hard to comprehend that the management OTR saw blocking people from coming here as more important than helping their members fight the stays and the banks.

In a final effort to share our work with CAG members, I started a new account and approached one of the most active members OTR (not admin )on the stays side. Fortunately she was receptive, and agreed to post helpful info from LB so that it was accessible to CAG members, with no sign that it was actually work coming from here. I am proud to say that this arrangement worked for some months and that she is still an active helper at both sites.

Eventually, even CAG recognised reality and the hardship issue became mainstream.

With the coverage of the test case here and the banning of crfx/EXC there, I think the Berlin Wall has now come down LOL. Beagles is happy to welcome new members who share our objectives and values, regardless of whether their membership is 'exclusive'.

Welcome aboard quartz, and if you should find yourself banned OTR, don't look on this as a punishment, more as a badge of honour. You'll be in some fine company msl: :okay:

            Re: Bagel, anyone???

I have to admit, I feel so welcome, it's sooo opposite to cag, yeah they say your welcome blah blah, but you never see BF or Dave helping you when you need it. Take the MP's thread, we were crying out for some support & help to get it moved to somewhere more prominent so that everyone would jump on board & help, but it hasn't got anywhere near as far as we would like, & as you'll know, we were getting quite a lot of help & support from crfx/EXC, & I thank him very much, he was & still is a great help.
All I can say is that it's a bloody shame that caggers are getting dismayed, but unfortunately not surprising either. I & even Mac are getting more & more disheartened with it all now, we've done so much & got nowhere.
But please don't get me wrong, as I've made a lot of friends OTR, especially on the chill thread.
Thank you for the really warm welcome form you all, & I've got no intention of leaving LB, not for a long time yet (besides I quite like my new alias) hehe, & once I've found my way around, I'll be in a position to help as much as I possibly can.

Hi Quartz, great to see you here.

I for one, find this site so much more friendly than OTR. When I joined OTR in the dim and distant past, that site was full of dynanism, and I embraced it whole heartidly. But it changed, slowly for the worst, like a creeping illness, which was a pity.

Again, welcome here, and as you say in your signature " We'll all win in the end "

Cant believe how childish they are OTR by doing that. They must see this site as a threat.
A similar thing happens when a link is put to our site on there.

Ah well, if it amuses them, leave them to it.
