11 days time will mark a moment in the history of anyone who is from Manchester, be it City or United. In 1958 one of the best teams in the country and maybe in Europe, was almost wiped out in an air crash in Munich.
The team lost 7 players that day and a further one 15 days later when Duncan Edwards lost his battle for life.

Nattie just thought I would say we shouldn't forget to mention the 15 others besides 8 footballers who also lost their lives on that snow covered runway in Munich

I started this thread because a lot of people may not know what Munich signifies and why it is so important. A whole team were wiped out and it changed the face of football.

Nattie I have been to Old Trafford and done the tour round the stadium. They have a museum there with tributes to Man U players past and present and even I a die hard 'Chelsea' fan had tears brought to my eyes when I stood and read everything there.
For any footie fan its a MUST visit !

On February 6th, 1958 at 15:06, players, coaches and press were involved in the Munich air crash.
50 years have passed but we still do not forget them.
