A contrite apology

Earlier today, I posted a message wherein I suggested that a certain person (who shall remain nameless) was posting under a different sobriquet from usual, and that I claimed "the News Chronicle prize".

I now appreciate that there is no truth whatever to the allegation that the person had ever worked for that august (if defunct) journal and I wish to apologise unreservedly for having seemed to suggest that they (or any other newspaper) might lower their standards so much that they might employ that certain person.
